About Me

I created this blog to share my journey of continual self-discovery and enlightenment. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, problem solving professional, and licensed social worker. I’m Haitian American, was born and raised in Chicago, and unexpectedly ended up living in Texas. Like most people, I’m complex and have many layers. In managing life ups and downs, I strive to incorporate self-care strategies into my everyday life. In 2016, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My life was temporarily turned upside down, but I’m getting back to me.

I’ve learned some hard and light lessons along the way…lessons that have enlightened me and caused me to make myself a priority because no one else will. I hope the tidbits I share will enlighten and inspire others to put themselves first on their priority list and take action through self-care.

God is the light that shines through me and I shine the brightest when I’m helping others.
