About Me

I created this blog to share my journey of continual self-discovery and enlightenment. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, aunt, problem solving professional, and licensed social worker. I’m Haitian American, was born & raised in Chicago, and unexpectedly ended up living in Texas. Like most people, I’m complex and have many layers. In managing life ups and downs, I strive to incorporate self-care strategies into my everyday life. My current challenge is a recent breast cancer diagnosis.

I’ve learned some hard and light lessons along the way that have enlightened me and made me realize that I need to make myself a priority because no one else will.  I hope the tidbits that I share will enlighten and inspire others to put themselves first on that priority list and take action through self-care strategies.

God is the light that shines through me and I shine the brightest when I’m helping others.
